Katherine London Bischof
Director & Founder, LRI
Raised in Naperville, IL, Kate was an athlete from the tender age of two, when her father, a professional tennis player, put a racquet in her hand. By the age of four, she began gymnastics and soccer which lasted throughout college, during which time she sustained her unfair share of injuries, and subsequent pain. Kate searched for relief to her ongoing pain and restricted range of motion, and after seeing many doctors, multiple chiropractors and several physical therapists, found a structural therapist that was able to identify the source of her pain and bring immense, immediate relief. From that point on, her curiosity in treating injuries, particularly recovery and regeneration of athletes post-injury, intensified.
After attending The University of Illinois in Champaign and earning a BS in Kinesiology and Sports Management, Katherine honed her craft as the Health Promotions Director to the U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, CA. Following the events of 9/11, however, countless Marines were being deployed daily, which lead Kate to relocate. Leveraging her background in promotions, Kate founded KG Event Management & Branding, an event logistics and operations company in Nashville, TN., which designed and developed some of the largest live events in the country. Eventually realizing she desperately missed working in wellness, Kate relocated to her hometown and built a multi-million dollar sports performance facility outside of Chicago. This influential experience lead her to found London Recovery Institute, a personalized-scale organization centered on physical wellness and recovery.
Ever expanding her certifications, credentials, and modalities, Kate has worked with countless individuals from all walks of life, ranging from high-schoolers, to children, retirees, school teachers, artists, business executives, even some of the most renowned MLB & NFL athletes in the world, performing structural therapy, fascial stretch therapy, kinesiotaping, personal training, sports performance enhancement and neuromuscular re-education. The results Kate brings to her athletic clients translate to her non-athlete clients as well, all of whom struggle with pain and range of motion in their daily lives.
